Pumping effect on the polariton dynamics in a thin platelet of Curl has beentheoretically analyzed from the viewpoint of non-linear change in polariton disper-sion relation. In terms of (i) the dielectric function of Haug et at., which includes theeffect of pumping excitons into excitonic molecule states, and (ii) an extended form ofthe Pekar's additional boundary condition, the observed pumping spectra 7'.(u.; co)by Mita and Nagasawa for a very thin ( -l500A) platelet, which show acharacteristic dependence on the (fixed) probe light frequency co, are well reproduced,Application of the theory to thicker samples ( - 20 qm), where a puzzling, pump-in-duced correlation effect is observed between upper and lower polaritons, shows thatthe consideration of the non-linear change in polariton dispersion is not enough tosolve the puzzle.
