The one-electron energy band structure for the rare-earth intermetallic com-pound LaGez, in which an anomalous specific heat and a superlattice structurehave recently been found, is calculated by an APW method with a local-densityapproximation. Assuming that the superlattice structure may originate from aformation of the charge density wave state, the Fermi surface is investigatedcarefully. It consists of two sheets, a multiply-connected electron sheet and amultiply-connected hole sheet. A candidate for such flat pieces of the Fermisurface that are responsible for a formation of the charge density wave state withthe observed period is a pair of the nearly flat sides of the box-shaped part of theelectron sheet.
