Several decoupling schemes are discussed for the semiclassical impact parametertreatment of collisions between atoms and linear rigid rotors. First, a decouplingmethod analoxous to the ctuantum mechanical one orixina'ced from the con-servation of parity is found also in the semiclassical treatment. Next, presentlyderived semiclassical versions of /-dominance and decoupled Z-dominance ap-rroximations rrovide us with an intuitive understandinu of the r>hvsical meaninzof these approximations. Numerical applications are performed for the H"-COcollision system.
