This paper concerns the flow of highly rarefied gas through a circular tube offinite length leading to a vacuum from a reservoir. First, the free molecular flowis considered. Then, the effect of intermolecular collisions is estimated by apply-ing the iteration method to the B-G-K equation. The total mass flux throughthe tube is computed for several values of tube length. It is shown that the cor-rection of the flux to the free molecular flow decreases with increasing tubelength and becomes negative for a tube whose length is more than about eighttimes as large as its diameter.
