The steady streaming induced by a circular cylinder performing a rotatoryoscillation about an eccentric axis in a fluid which is<>therwise at rest is investigatedby means of a flow visualization method. The solution of glycerine in water isused as the working fluid. The aluminum dust met]?od is used for flow visualiza-lion. It is found that when l><0.2 the flow consists of two layers, the inner layerand the outer layer, and that when i>0.2 the inne?" layer spreads over the wholeflow field, where l>is the non-dimensional thickness of the Stokes layer. It isalso found that when J<0.1 a jet-like flow is prodtuced in the outer layer.
