Dielectric relaxation studies of chloral and chloral in benzene are ?c1one. Ther-naodynamical parameters, high frequency permittivity and relaxation time dueto over all rotation and due to intramolecular group rotation are evaluated. Itis concluded that relaxation mechanism is much more affected by starroundingsthan the trichloro group attached to the one end of the molecule.
