The thermal coutductivity atad thermal diffusivity of Lithium Fluoride siutglecrystals have been measured simultauaeously by the temperature wave naethod at1.5-20 K. The specimens were successively defornaed by counpressioua and disloca-Lions with densities of 10'-10' cm-" were itatroduced. The diffusivity data wereused to analyze the scatteriuag of phonons by dislocatiouns. The auaalysis was madewith the Callaway's method, a?ad tlte empirical representation of the relaxatio?arate for the dislocatiora scattering was found to be a SLIIII of two rates with differ-ent dependeuaces 011 phonoz? frequency: rl"ccco-" and r;"cccta'. The formercorrespotads to the pJtozaon scatteriz?g by the Ilutterizag of dislocations, while thelatter represeuats other uuaknowua scatterittg mechanism effective at high teunpera-tures. Specific heat of' the crystals was also determined from the couadttctivity ar?ddiffusivity data. The Debye temperature was fouztd to decrease or the specific heatto inacrease by fairly large amouuat wheta dislocations were izatroduced. It wassuggested that the origiua of the specific heat euahancemetht and the uvaknownnaechaniszn of phonoua scatteriutg could be due to quasilocal ntode phonozas arounddislocations.
