Decay of the 1^+ Isomer in ^<24>Al

The 1" isomer in "Al is found to be located at 426 keV slightly different fromthe previous assignment. The 1 " isomer decays by fi transitions with branchingratio of 2243'3 and by emission of a 426-keV y ray with 78-J3%. The log(/Z)value of the fi transition from ""At(l ") to the 9962-kVe level in "Mg is obtainedto be 3.5-50.1, indicating a super-allowed transition. The reduced transitionprobability B(M3) of the 1"+4" '7 transition is deduced to be 264fJ3(el/'2.Mc)'frn'. Correction for spin magnetic moments in M3 moments arediscussed.[ RADIOACTIVITY ""AN [from "Mg(p,n)]; measured I, E, T.7.,I Excitationlfunctions, fi- and 7-branchings ; deduced log ( fi ), B(M3).
