A collective approach to conformons is developed in a model of solitaryexcitons in one-dimensional molecular chains. The solitary wave due to collectivemotions propagates together with the local deformation along the molecular chain. The collective excitation is obtained by using Tomonaga's method. The time-rateof change of the conformon distribution functions, d7V./di will be derived. Thismethod of quantum mechanical collective description for conformons may beapplicable to many other collective excitations in the motions of molecules oratoms.
