The behavior of a one-component gas bounded by an infinite plane surfaceof its condensed phase at a given temperature is studied analytically on thebasis of the Boltzmann-Krook-Welander equation. The source of the qualitativedisagreement between the existing results by the linear analysis and those of thenon-linear numerical approach is clarified, and a system of successive approxi-matmon us guven.
