The applicability of our earlier equations on the thermal expansion coefficientand the Grfineisen parameteu' (J. Phys. Soc. Japan 25 (1968) 212', 28 (1970) 525)derived in case of ionic crystals-which also included the cccntributions of cubicand other higher-order anharmonic terms-has been tested in case of molecularcrystal of bicyclo [2.2.2] octane. The calculations demonstrated that these equa-tions are quite successful in explaining the thermal expansion and the volumedependence of the vibrational frequency of this n'rolecular ct'ystal as well.
