A theoretical calculation on the fluorescence correlation function of the intensity of radiation from a fluorescence labelled-macromolecule in the solution which is illuminated by standing light waves is presented. The method proposed in this note implies some advantages of the faster and more accurate measurement of the translational diffusion coefficient of the macromolecule than that proposed first by Elson and Magde.
