Unsteady aspects of incompressible flows at a three-dimensional stagnation point of attachment on a general curved surface of a body are described. The velocity of the external stream towards the body is assumed to be kept constant in time t after its impulsive start from rest at t=0. The derived fundamental equations by using the boundary layer approximation are found to be non-similar and an attempt to solve them in a numerical scheme is made by employing the difference-differential method. Numerical solutions for various values of a parameter which characterizes the present problem are given for the velocity profile and skin friction and these numerical solutions are used to discuss the development of the boundary layer, the onset of reverse flow and the unsteady behaviour of skin friction.
