The steady two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic boundary layer flow with a uniform suction or injection past a semi-infinite flat plate in the cross fields is studied on the assumption of small magnetic Reynolds number. The transformed boundary layer equation is found to be a non-similar one and an attempt is made to solve it numerically by a difference-differential method originated by Hartree and Womersley. Numerical results for various values of parameters are given for the velocity profile, coefficient of skin friction, displacement thickness and momentum thickness, and the effects of the magnetic field on a role of suction or injection are in vestigated.
