The temperature dependence of the scattering function 〓(q,ω), the Fourier transformed spin correlation function, within the (11^^-0) reciprocal lattice plane of a simple cubic paramagnetic KMnF_3 has been determined by inelastic scattering of slow neutrons. At 3.4T_N the experimental scattering function assumes the well-understood paramagnetic character at high temperatures. With decreasing temperatures, the energy spectra of 〓(q,ω) show much structure. In particular, a triple-peaked line shape appears at 1.14T_N for values of q around the magnetic zone center, and the two outer peaks have been identified to arise from the spin waves by cooling the sample to the antiferromagnetic phase. The experimental data unarguably indicates the presence of quasi-spin-wave modes in the paramagnetic phase of KMmF_3.
