The propagation of a pressure wave induced by the rapid bubble wall motion near the bvrbblecollapse was sttrdied analytically for a sonoluzninescing gas bubble. It has been found that apresstrre wave rather than a shock wave is lattnched into the btubble center jtrst prior to thebubble collapse and the wave is reflected near the center. It has also been found that as thegas pressure inside the bubble increases, so the reflection point tnoves farther from the center. No sharp foctrsing developed by an inxvardly rnoving shock wave reflected at the origin has beenfotrnd. The ternperatture rise associated with the presstrre wave developed inside the bubble ttmrnsout to be insufficient for emitting light.
