The scintillattion ptrlse heights and decay ctrrves f'rotaa f'ast-neutron irradiated Nal(Tl) crysttrlsup to the integr?rted f'ast netrtron flux of 2.4 x 10" Clll ' xvere uaaeastrred trnder excitation by eTec-trons, alpha p;rrticles and fission fr?tguaaetats. For Tl concentrations of 0.01, 0.07 and 0.22 uaaole%,decreases b3' 20 '? 40% irn scintillation ptrlse heights stre olcserved f'or the ir'radisrted cr.5rstals cornpared with those of' nun-irr'atdistted crystals. Tlae decreases are etahstnced f'or electron excitationcouaapared with those f'or alpha par'ticle ?tnd fission fragtnent excitation. The decrearse in scintilNation ptrlse height is attribtuted to blocking of the energy trans['er processes of' V? centers andelectrons by the traps and lattice disorders which were pr'oduced by fast neutrons, Tire effect of'this blocking of tlae energy transfer processes is clesrrly observed as 21 difl'erence in decay ctrrvesfir the crystals be['ore and atfter fast netrtron irr?tdiation; a flstt top which ajcpeared bef'ore tlaeirradiation is not present after irradiation.
