• Boron deficiency symptoms of rape plant (B. napus) grown in sand nutrient culture were observed.1) The chief external symptoms were malformation of leaves, death of growing point, and cracking and hypocotyl, of anatomical symptoms were degeneration of cambium.2) The visual symptoms in early stage of boron deficiency varied with the age of plant.3) Symptoms of hypocotyl were more closely correlated with of reduction of boron content in plant tissues than symptoms of buds.
