Detonation gas spraying has been for many years as a means of improving the resistance of erosive wear and hot corrosion of steel surfaces. Cermets are superior to other materials in terms of wear resistance, hot corrosion and oxidation resistance. Cermets coating produced by this method showed higher density, lower porosity and higher bonding. The object of this study is to investigate the protective performances of detonation gas sprayed cermet coatings against of steel at high-temperature oxidation and erosive wear.
