We examined about the method of determination of the macro- and micro-component elements in shell of shellfish by ICP-AES. The ICP-AES signals for detected elements were highly suppressed or increased by large amounts of calcium ions. Therefore, determination of eleven elements (Ca, Na, Mn, Mg, Sr, K, Ba, Fe, Al, Cu, Zn) in the synthetic shell sample solution was performed by ICP-AES using a standard addition extrapolated method. The results were comparable with the concentration of each added element.
