• Biological activities of 7-azaindole derivatives as agricultural fungicides were studied. Some of them showed considerable activity against various fungi, especially toward Pyricularia oryzae (fungus of rice blast) in vivo. Structure-activity relationships were established, and considerable correlation was observed between the fungicidal activities against rice blast and the calculated ionization potentials for 7-azaindole derivatives.
