Wearless-frictional resistance accompanying steady sliding motion between mesoscopic lattices is studied systematically by MD simulation using two- and one-dimensional models. Change in frictional characteristics of a mesoscopic lattice due to isotope substitution is explained in terms of "size effect", throught which how the characteristics reflect phonon spectra of the lattice is discussed.
