• The non-Abelian gauge theory of massless quarks and gluons confined in the MIT bag is studied in one-space and one-time dimensions with emphasis on its quantization and perturbation theory. It turns out that the"Coulomb"interaction term in the light-cone gauge is of sixth order in quark fields. This causes new ultraviolet divergences in perturbation theory. It is shown that, at least in the lowest non-trivial order of approximation, the new divergences can be renormalized to the bag constant B owing to a delicate cancellation of some part of the divergences between one- and two-particle diagrams. For the renormalizability the colorless nature of the bag is essential.
