Statistical reaction processes of nuclei, of molecules and of microclusters are compared with each other. Bohr and Weisskopf's theory of compound nuclear reactions is reviewed together with recent developments in this field, which will be one of the bases for understanding statistical reactions in general. Further sophistication of the theory including preequilibrium processes is briefly reviewed.
