Lepton Number Violating e^-W^+ → e^+W^- and e^-e^- → W^-W^- Processes in the Left-Right Gauge Model : Particles and Fields

As new tests of the nature of neutrinos, Iepton number violating e^-W^+_a → e^+W^-_b and e^-e^- → W^-_aW^-_b processes are studied within the SU(2)_L×SU(2)_R×U(1)_<B-L> gauge model. They take place via exchange of a Majorana neutrino and a doubly charged Higgs particle. Differential cross sections are derived in the most general form. The angular distribution of the former process becomes resonant at cos θ_j = -1 + 2(M^2_aM^2_b - m^2_ss)/(s - M^2_a)(s - M^2_b), from which the neutrino mass m_j can be deduced. Differential cross sections are estimated by using present bounds on the parameters. The cross section of the former process is about 10^2 times larger than the latter. Another process, e^-p → e^+W^-n, which includes e^-W^+ → e^+W^- as a sub-process, is also discussed, and orders of magnitude of the cross section are estimated.
