In order to study unstable nuclei, it is necessary to treat the effects of resonance states properly. In a framework of the complex scaling method, which is very useful for calculating resonance energies and decay widths of many body systems, we discuss matrix elements such as the Eλ-transition strength associated with resonance and continuum states. The energy weighted sum rule values are investigated on the basis of the extended completeness relation for bound, resonance and continuum states in the complex scaling method.
