Comment on the Coupling between Collective and Non-Collective Modes in Transitional Nuclei

The coupling between collective and non-collective modes in transitional nuclei are discussed within the boson-fermion expansion formalism by using Feshbach's projection method. It is shown that the conventional treatment using a kind of the closure approximation overestimates the coupling effect.
