In condensed matter physics, the homotopy theory has been applied to the problem of defects in ordered media. It is powerful tool especially for the classification of point or line defects^<5)> and ring defects.^<)6>. For point or line defects, π_1(Y) or π_2(y) is appropriate, where Y is an order parameter space. For ring defects, a group τ_2(Y), which is the homotopy set of mappings from R^3\{unknotted ring}into Y with a multiplication rule, is essential._<1),6)>We consider a higher dimensional version of τ_2(y), abhomotopy groups,^<3)> and propose a method for discerning the creation-annihilation of defects in ordered media.
