Energy spectra of particles emitted in one-nucleon transfer reactions induced by heavy-ions are analyzed, putting emphasis on the study of the relative importance of the population of the high-lying single-particle (resonant) states. We use the semiquantal DWBA method, in which the wave functions of the relative motion between two nuclei are approximated by the WKB solutions. We assume that a nucleon is transferred into a bound, resonant or non-resonant single-particle state of the residual nucleus. Calculated energy spectra of emitted particles are compared successfully with experimental data for the following reactions: ^<52>Cr(^<14>N, ^<13>C) ^<53>Mn at E_<1ab>=70, 80 MeV, ^<52>Cr(^<12>C, ^<11>B) ^<53>Mn at E_<1ab>=70 MeV, ^<208>Pb(^<16>O, ^<15>N)^<209>Bi at E_<1ab>=312.6 MeV. In all the cases, the contribution from the transfer to the non-resonant states occupies very small portion of the spectra. The continuous part of the spectra is dominated by the transfer to the high-spin single-particle resonant states, which result is in accord with the optimum matching of kinematical conditions.
