A new method of deriving inequalities to determine the ground state of the lattice gas is proposed. The principle of the method is simple and general. The inequalities are expressed in terms of the numbers of many-particle-clusters. The method of determining the region of interaction constants for the ground state of a given ordered structure is also presented. There are cases that the region extends when inequalities which involve terms associated with extended particle-clusters are suitably taken into account. The method is applied to the lattice gas on the square lattice to check the validity of the method. The results are satisfactory.
