The photodecay processes of J/ψ into an ordinary meson (π^0,η,η′,f,f′ and so on ) are investigated on the basis of the relativistic harmonic oscillator model. It is shown that the form factor effect plays an important role in these processes because of the large mass differences between J/ψ and the ordinary mesons. On the assumption that these photodecay processes proceed via OZI allowed diagram due to a nonnegligible cc^^- quark component in ordinary mesons and ordinary quark components (NN^^- and λλ^^-) in J/ψ, the standard SU(4) mixing parameters, determined through discussion about the mass formula, can give us reasonable photodecay widths consistent with the existing experiments, provided that the form factor suppression coming from our relativistic harmonic oscillator model is taken into account as an essential effect. The theoretical predictions for the photodecay widths of J/ψ into other ordinary mesons in ^3P_J states [ε(1200),S(993),D(1285) and so on]are also given.
