The total cross section of elastic single charge exchange scattering of π^+ on ^<13>C including the process in which nuclear excitation occurs directly before or after the charge exchange is calculated in a distorted wave eikonal approximation. The cross section becomes almost twice due to the Pauli correlation but the energy dependence does not change significantly. The short-range correlation of the Jastrow type increases the cross section by about 10%. Possible improvements of the distorted wave eikonal approximation are discussed.
