The fairly accurate eigenfunctions of 2 ^<3>P and 2 ^<1>P states of the He atom are determined by the variation method so as to assume the simplest analytical form. The polarization of the s-orbital is taken into account, and the configuration interaction is examined. The nonrelativistic energy eigenvalues are E_<theo>(2^3P)=-2.132 612 64 and E_<theo>(2^1P)=-2.123 198 66 atomic units which include both the normal and specific mass correction. These theoretical values are in fairly good agreement with the observed values E_<obs>(2^3P)=-2.132 968 6±7×10^<-7> and E_<obs>(2^1P)=-2.123 637 3±7×10^<-7> atomic units.
