Many-body effects due to Coulomb interaction between conduction electrons on the effective pseudo-potential determining the Fermi surface of simple metals are investigated. Numerical estimate of these effects at metallic densities of electrons is made within the first order of the dynamically screened Coulomb interactions in the random-phase approximation. Non-locality of the effective potential due to the so-called vertex correction, i. e., its dependence on wave vector p of the scattered electron, is shown to be quite remarkable. The modification factor for the pseudo-potential due to the many-body effects is calculated for the case of alkali metals for various arrangements of wave vector p on the Fermi surface relative to the smallest (i. e., 110) reciprocal lattice vector.
