We study fragmentation functions (FFs) from a quark into a baryon, i.e. proton or Lambda (Λ), by using a spectator model that takes account of quark-antiquark pairs in a spectator. Values of model parameters are determined by adjusting to the quark distribution functions of the proton. The favored FF of the proton reproduces the semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering data well, except for a slight overestimation. Lambda FFs are also studied.
