One-Particle (Regge) Exchange Mechanism and Inclusive Hyperon (ΛΣ and Y^*_1) Production

A hyperon production in the inclusive reaction p+p→Λ(Σ)+anything (X) is studied by K- and K^*-Regge exchange mechanism. Not only a direct production by the Regge exchange, but also a contribution of the decay products from Y_1^* are considered. It is possible to get satisfactory fits to the data by this mechanism. The decay products of Y_1^* compensate for the shortage of the direct production in a manner fairly consistent with duality.
