A Scheme of Two Unitary Triplets of the Intermediate Bosons and Weak Interactions

A unified model of weak interactions is proposed on the basis of Cabibbo's and d'Espagnat's approaches. Basic assumptions are: a) There exist two kinds of unitary triplets W_i and Z_i of intermediate spin-one bosons with required large masses and b) their fundamental weak interactions are ascribed to the fundamental representations of unitary group which is conjugate to the symmetry group of strong interactions. By introducing a heavy lepton, a unitary triplet scheme of leptons is assumed to realize this picture. The following coupling scheme is obtained from these hypotheses; a) The usual non-leptonic decays are treated independently of ordinary leptonic ones, b) the leptonic couplings consist of the usual charged part which contains Cabibbo's picture, a neutral part which does not contribute to any ∣ΔS∣=1 semi-leptonic transitions involving usual leptons and further a new charged part in which heavy leptons always participate and c) the non-leptonic couplings provide the same result as d'Espagnat's one except for coupling strength. These features can be consistent with experiment. In addition, discussion is made for the effects of violation of P and CP invariances as well as of the ΔI=1/2 rule, by the use of chiral groups and mass-type interactions of the intermediate bosons.
