In Thailand the year of 1999 is very significant for the progress of education of the children with special needs.Because in this year the Ministry of Education proposed to the government to state the educational year 1999 for the children with special needs.In real since this year the number of these children who study in school has been increasing and opportunity of their having education has been promoted.And their education has been supported by the law and the national policy.As for the early detection and early intervention for the pre-school children with special needs, even though not having a special law, the national public health policy has promoted the progress of the early detection and early intervention in Thailand.And now the Ministry of Public Health is eager to focus on screening and treatment of autistic children.So the early detection and early intervention for autistic children are becoming most important task for specialists and parents.In these situation Rajabhat University has been important charges of promoting education and research in pre-school handicapped children.In this article we examined human resources and activities in Rajabhat University.Finally we proposed and discussed the future tasks focusing on lack of staff, parent involvement, attitude toward disability, and early identification of the early detection and early intervention in Thailand
