This study aims to explore the "houshi-teki (Community Service) "activity in FHJ (Future Homemakers of Japan) with descriptive data about participation activities for about forty years (1963-2001). During 40 years or so, its role has become much valued in the course of studies for high school level and the meaning of the "houshi-teki" activity in FHJ has changed gradually not only to community service but also to welfare education activity. Another finding of this study indicated, statistically significant relation-ships between the content of "houshiteki" activities and the series of course of studies revisions are not so clear, though the need for students to develop collaborative leadership skills, family and community roles are more required to FHJ activity.
