Zinc in the limbic system of rat's brain was histochemically examined. Studies of the incorporation of zinc under the condition of administrating chlopromazine, reserpin, meprobamate, Zn-glucose, niamide, γ-oryzanol, adrenaline, estradiol, progesterone and testosterone were made ; the studies under fasting, readministration of food and electroshocked were also carried out. The results were as followings : 1. Histochemically, there were strong positive reactions in the area of h_3 of hippocampus and amygdala contrary to the negative reactions in the areas of h_1 and h_2,meocortex, mid-brain and cerebellum.2. The results of the incorporation of radioactive zinc were almost the same in the frontal lobe, mid-brain, cerebellum, pons and medulla. However, it was low in the hippocampus.3. In the serial studies of the incorporation of zinc of the brain, rapid increase was found during the period immediately after the administration up to 48 hours. A stable value was obtained after 72 to 168 hours.4. Concerning the incorporation of radioactive zinc in the hippocampus, a significant increase was found in the groups of chlorpromazine administered, fasting and readministration of food. No statistically significant results were found in the rest of the groups.5. Changes of the blood pressure was also studied when Zn-glucose (10mg/kg or 50mg/kg) was administered. Excluding a small number of the cases, in which lowered blood pressure was found, about half of the cases showed either elevated blood pressure or the similar blood pressure before the administration.
