Previous studies of the movement of the Syuyodan have evaluated it only as the organization that conveyed national and governmental ideology. However the movement had some different aspects in each time. Especialy the early movement of the Syuyodan in Meiji era suggested some critical concern for education in school, because the organization was built by students of the nomal school, Monzo Hasunuma and his friend. They pointed out the lack of mental education and necessity of physical practice, meditation for finding out the nature of human being, intimate relationship between teachers and students and so on. These contents of the mental education were not only different from national curriculam for moral education, Syushin, but seemed to teach us the alterenative of ethical education. In this paper I trid to examine them to find a possibility of its potencial for ethical education beyond the limits of general belief being considered in modern school. I believe the contents is very rich to study more, though we have neglected them because their movement have focused on social education (out of school).
