Research for the Development of CAI using Multimedia PC for Japanese Language Practice

This research was aimed at finding and developing an appropriate software to be used for instruction by the technology of Multimedia PC. The research followed the principle stated in the definition of CAI, or computer Assisted Instruction that CAI is the application of computer in systemically programming the subject matters and teaching strategies to fit individual students. The researcher surveyed for appropriate software for developing instruction programs Which can serve as authoring tools for this research. This software can produce different lesson frames,present sudject matter and examples, calculate and make decisions,pictures and sound simulation,questions and practices,includes keys to question and evaluate. Therefore The Authorware Professional software was selected. In this research,the researcher used the courseware of the Japanese Language course as a case study. After the study is tested through experiments,the same attempts will be made with other courses of study.
