This report proposes a new method for the enhancement of coronary artery thrombolysis using ultrasonic energy. We designed an ultrasonic transducer element to be attached at the tip of a coronary artery artery catheter. To examine optimal shape and to evaluation the acoustic characteristics of the ultrasonic transducer element we manufactured a piezoelectric transducer element of cylindrical shape. The sound intensity of the element in the radial direction was examined in water and the sound pressure of 0.5 MPa, which satisfies the specification of this study, was obtained.
