情報化社会における房総半島に期待される将来像と課題

In Peninsula Boso, despite it is located near Tokyo, natural environment remains widely and the population in villages is decreasing, because of the topographical handicap namely a peninsula. But big development, if it is chosen to provide many jobs, possibly causes the destruction of good natural environment which is its precious resources. To know the future situation in Boso desired by people and the problems in Boso region in today's information- oriented Society, we conducted a questionnaire asking inhabitants including Tokyo. From that, the followings are concluded. 1. Future situations in Boso region expected by people in Boso is comfortable life for elder people and preserving natural environment, in contrast, people in Tokyo want Boso to have good accessibility and natural environment. 2. More people in Boso than people in Tokyo think that Boso is convenient and accessible to Tokyo. This difference might cause the misleading the plan in Boso. And one of the problems for seeking the good life in Boso pointed by people in Tokyo is that Boso is not known well by other areas. From these, providing information about Boso region is important for future in Boso, in some cases using internet services. 3. People's will in Boso to participate in discussion about improving areas are stronger than in Tokyo, in contrast, information concerning admnistration provided by local governments in Boso is possibly less than in Tokyo. In order to obtain desiered future situations, many people think that to collect information from nationwide areas is important, that shows the network society is demanded.
