• Seventeen cars with gasoline engine were run for 17 months on flat road in the Yokohama plant using refined gasohol(E10), E10 containing water, and crude E10 as a fuel, and drivability of each fuel was evaluated by seasons compared with that of gasoline using two cars. A car was run for a short period at domestic site at Okinawa in summer and at Hokkaido in winter using refined gasohol at variable fuel vapor pressure. Adaptability of E10 to a car on the market was evaluated by these data. Required quality of ethanol utilized for E10 for gasoline engine, improvement of quality of E10, adjustment of engine, and improvement of car parts were discussed.
