A plan to introduce gasohol(E10) consisting of 90% of gasoline and 10% of refined ethanol prepared by fermentation as a fuel has been considered in order to reduce emission of carbon dioxide. Investigation on preparation of E10 utilizing existing facilities and conventional method were carried out. The stability of E10 was observed for 20 months. Blending condition for preparing E10 using underground tank facility, comparison of properties of E10 with gasoline, change of properties of E10 during storage, corrosion of metal and swell of rubber by E10 were investigated. The precision of measure for E10 was examined. Hydrocarbon content in environmental air was measured. Based on these investigations, items to be improved were pointed out.
