In belief or trust we have a believable information and a hidden essential matter. Fundamentally the believed hidden matter cannot be known directly by believer, only is indicated to him with that information. By some reasons we consider and accept the information as truth and become to believe it. Because we cannot know directly the truth of that information, we are sometimes deceived by it. While believer and truster have no means than the given information which cannot be certified as truth by them, they must bet on this risky one. When in belief or trust we have only a risk and no merit, we may not bet on it. There must be also some merit that results from believing matter. Although this ""bet"" may be one definition of belief or trust, many researchers usually define it as expectation or anticipation. These words ""expectation"" and ""anticipation"" in English include as well the negative result of expected matter, i.e. the expectation of bad result or the anticipation of wrong fact. But the translated Japanese expectation ""KITAI"" does not include such negative result only means ""hope for good"". Similarly we sometimes paraphrase the belief as ""wish"". Then the ability of belief or trust is for the recognition, but Japanese expectation ""KITAI"", hope and wish are the ability or function of desire, not of recognition, so exactly are not the belief in a narrow sense. In addition generally truster entrusts to trustee or trustworthy matter. The entrust is also the cardinal moment of trust or belief. While betting is the willful negative action against a risk, this entrust is the positive non-action to leave us in the trusty at rest.
