Graph Theory is a theory which studies various aspects on connection structure consisting of a set of vertices and edges. The famous problem of the bridges of konigsberg, solved by Euler, is viewed as the first formal result in graph theory. Since then, partly because of the simple connection structure, this theory has been applied to such wide fields as chemistry, sociology, psychology, as well as technology. Graph Theory is now considered as a part of combinatorial mathematics or discrete mathematics, but it is also an important field that supports the technology of communication networks. It is time we should start offering Graph Theory classes at national colleges of technology. There are many reference books on Graph Theory. However, those books are not suitable as textbooks for the students of national colleges of technology. Now that we are remodeling the curriculum of national colleges of technology, we would like to present a syllabus for a Graph Theory class as a means for providing this knowledge to students as soon as possible. This syllabus is intended for college freshman or sophomore students. The 90 minute lesson is held once a week for a year. The lesson includes some practical exercises. After teaching the Graph Theory as a trial in the near future, we will discuss my plan for improving the syllabus.
