1. The purpose of the present study was to obtain a basic data for analizing with EMG the muscle exercise which exerts breaking strength. 2. It was investigated that the relation of breaking strength and frequency and integrated value of EMG recorded with surface electrodes from muscle biceps brachii. 3. The subjects were 4 healthy adults aged from 22 to 26 years. 4. The load was increased progresively by 2.5kg from 2.5kg to maximum load that they could maintain 4 seconds at angles 45°, 90° and 135° of the elbow joint. 5. The breaking strength was 25% to 43% larger than the maximum strength. 6. There was no significant relationship between the isometric passive and frequency of EMG. 7. At 90° of the elbow joint, the increasing rate of integrated EMG changed exponentially rather than linear. 8. In another experiments, It was directed that the contraction form of muscle which exerts isometric active and passive was different. 9. The result suggested that electromyographic analysis of breaking strength has to be done in consideration of nonlinear relationship between muscle strength and integrated value of EMG.
