The purpose of this paper is to review the Creation story in the Book of Genesis and search for a meaningful understanding of human life in the contemporary context. A focus of examination is on the dualistic view as well as "Person Theory", often critically analyzed in the realm of Bioethics. An attempt is made to clarify reasons for such criticisms and for division and hierarchical concept on human life resulted from reliance on Rationalism and Pragmatism in modern age. The paper searches for stories of creation among oppressed people in order to formulate a helpful viewpoint on human life in the contemporary situation. A review of the Biblical stories of Israel and reexamining the pain and weakness the poeple experienced should out some insight on the contemporary thinking on human life and to sensitize the value of "others" so that we may be able to grasp human life as an interdependent and nutually supportive existence.
